Seasonal Eating the TCM Way: Spring Edition

In TCM, spring corresponds to the Liver and Gallbladder meridians. This is the season to eat green, sour, and lightly cooked foods: spinach, chives, vinegar-dressed dishes. Avoid heavy, greasy meals that burden the Liver. I swap my winter bone broths for light mung bean soups and notice my mood and digestion both lift. Small seasonal adjustments, big cumulative effect.

The mung bean soup swap is so simple but so effective. I have been doing this for two springs now and my digestion in March and April is noticeably better.
