The Perfect Temperature: A Guide to Hot Water Drinking

Not all hot water is equal. Boiling water (100°C) is too harsh for the throat and digestive lining. The sweet spot is 50–65°C — warm enough to feel therapeutic, cool enough to sip comfortably. I use a temperature-controlled kettle set to 60°C. In winter I go slightly warmer, in summer slightly cooler. The body tells you what it needs if you pay attention.

60°C is the sweet spot for me too. I use a Xiaomi kettle with temperature control — best kitchen purchase I have made in years.
